How to Choose Eyeglasses Based on Your Skin Tone

Choosing the right glasses can complement a woman’s natural beauty and bring out her features. One of the most important things to know is how to choose the right frames for your skin tone. Generally, people fall into the fair, medium or dark skin categories. Knowing which group you fall into will help you to pick the perfect specs.
For fair skin, it’s best to stay away from bright colors because it will draw attention to the paleness of your skin and may make you look washed out. Instead, opt for neutral brown, black, silver or gold frames. This doesn’t mean that fair skinned people can’t have any fun. Instead of expressing yourself through color, you can spruce things up through the shape of your frame or interesting details and embellishments on the temples. There are lots of different styles out there that make a fashion statement without detracting from the fair skin’s natural beauty. Remember, you can always add pizzazz with makeup and jewelry too.
If you have a medium skin tone, consider choosing rich, solid colored specs. These will work seamlessly with your skin tone and add a fun pop of color. Dark purples, pinks, blues and even greens work well. Women who plan to wear bold colored frames, however, are encouraged to go easy on the hair and makeup. Allow your eyeglasses to make the statement on their own.
Finally, for darker skin, you’ll want to stick to lighter colored frames so that they stand out just enough to add that special glow. Even the craziest of colors will appear subtle on darker skin, so you have free range when it comes to hair, makeup and other fashion accessories.
Of course, these are just basic tips to follow. When it comes down to it, you need to pick glasses that you love and feel the most comfortable wearing. After all, you feel most confident when you’re comfortable, and having confidence will make you the spexiest of all.
